To understand rules of the games you have to be familiar with next terms and definitions:

Terms Descriptions
Row The formation of stones of the same color on a line.
Unbroken row An unbroken row is a row with no free intersection(s) between stones.
Five in a row Five in a row is an unbroken row containing five stones
Overline Overline is an unbroken row composed of six or more stones
Four A four is a row with four stones
Straight four An unbroken row of four stones
Pair Any adjacent duo of stones
Three or Tria A row of three stones
Double-three Placing a stone on an intersection and will makes more than on three.
Double-four Placing a stone on an intersection and will makes more than on four.
